BOOK RELEASE RECEPTION FOR LOCAL AUTHOR
Jennifer (Collins) Sager will be signing books, visiting with readers, and sharing stories from her recently released book, Steph’s Story: My sister with Down syndrome finding her way toward independence.
In Steph’s Story, former Elkhart County educator and special education advocate Jennifer (Collins) Sager shares the life story of her sister with Down Syndrome. Readers will learn the historical context of Steph’s childhood and of the tireless effort of several local families to create educational opportunities for children with disabilities. The book includes the antics of the three Collins sisters, actions of compassionate community members who served Steph, and yes, stories of Steph’s long romance with David, who is planning to attend this event.
Sager’s book will surprise, educate, and bring tears of both laughter and grief as the author shares the family’s journey. Local readers will recognize many of the names and locations in this book.
