Exhibitions
Exhibition Presenting Sponsors participate in the presentation of the finest cultural programming. Each year the Museum organizes approximately 10-15 exhibitions exploring a wide range of media, periods, and styles in American Art. The schedule includes shows organized by the Midwest Museum of American Art as well as those on loan from other major cultural institutions. Feature exhibitions are displayed in one or more of our eleven (11) galleries.
Classes & Workshops
The Midwest Museum of American Art believes that creativity should be accessible to everyone in our community. Through our sponsorship program, local businesses and individuals can help fund art classes and workshops for students, families and lifelong learners of all skill levels. Your sponsorship directly supports: reduced-cost and scholarship spots for students who couldn’t otherwise attend, professional-grade art supplies and materials, visiting artist workshops and specialized instruction, expanded class offerings across mediums — painting, sculpture, printmaking, and more.
Special Events
Many unique events are held at the Midwest Museum of American Art each year. Underwriting sponsors for events help fund these engaging special occasions with the Museum, including annual events such as Youth Art (March/April) the MMAA Anniversary Celebration (May), the Elkhart Juried Regional (Oct-Dec), featured artist receptions, lectures, and book signings.
Educational Programming
Education is crucial to encouraging a love of art. Viewing artwork is enjoyable, but visitors to the Museum have a richer experience when they understand context: how was a piece of art created? Why? Museum programs challenge viewers to witness the world from different perspectives, to learn about cultural history, and to express themselves in creative ways. Sponsors make possible these learning opportunities that stretch the minds, hearts, and souls of people of all ages. Noontime talks are a cornerstone of our educational programming and includes lectures, films, musical performances and story telling.
