Cameron Cripe from Fairfield High School received the MMAA Senior Scholarship this year. Cameron will be attending Ball State University in the fall and has been accepted into the Media Design & Development Program within the School of Communications and Journalism. He was nominated by his teacher, Wendi Sparks.
Wendi said in part about Cameron, “he is great at talking about art and writing about it and is consistent in his quality of work. He understands how he must pivot to new ideas and takes risks and he is always willing to help others with their art in so many ways like posing for reference photos, holding lights and props. Cameron is taking 3 art courses this year, including AP Art.”
The parameters for this scholarship are:
- Must be a graduating senior student from a participating Elkhart County High School, i.e., Elkhart HS, Elkhart Career Center, Concord HS, Northridge HS, Goshen HS, or Fairfield Jr.-Sr. HS.
- Graduating senior resides in Elkhart County.
- Graduating senior must be accepted into a university or college studio/fine arts program or comparable program to receive the scholarship.
- Student must show:
- excellence in the classroom.
- creativity and or creative problem-solving skills
- Teamwork – helping others – rising above
- Goal-oriented
- Imaginative
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
